“But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?”

Romans 10:14
New Living Translation (NLT)

As the founder of MDR Ministries, Martin has merged his extensive experience in the medical industry with his years of historical research talents into a new type of ministry.  Along with the professional editing and marketing support of his wife, Deborah, Martin has dedicated his life to providing relevance and insight about the Word of God to all who will read and listen.

After Michelangelo had died they found in his studio a piece of paper where he had written a note to his apprentice in the handwriting of his old age: “Draw, Antonio, draw, Antonio, draw and do not waste time.”*  Such words are adapted to the Christian writer’s passion to complete his calling in time:  “Write, write, write and do not waste time.”

Such was the calling of Martin Roberts who was, and is, driven to spread the word of God to all that will hear him.  There was never any question of direction for him as God had guided him clearly and loudly to write. Most Christians remember the moment they became a believer, or were “born again”.  It was a life-changing moment for most.  More difficult is remembering the moment you knew exactly what God wants you to do with your life.  This is a life-guiding moment, with full visual description and clarity.  Martin Roberts has memory of both.

But, as all Christian writers do, he prays for direction in what he writes as he knows to whom he is accountable for his words.  And he prays for the faith that what he writes will be read by those who need to read it, when they need to read it.  As Martin says, “If only one person, by reading a word, a sentence, a phrase, or a Scripture, can accept God’s grace, then it has fulfilled the purpose of this ministry.”It is our prayer at MDR Ministries that we can help more than one person to come to know God or assist those who may still be struggling in their faith.

“A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver.” Proverbs 25:11

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”  Hebrews 11:1 (ESV)
